Northeast State Community College Workforce Solutions Hosts OSHA #511 Course

The office of Workforce Solutions at Northeast State seeks to educate safety professionals with an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry seminar scheduled for October.

The four-day workshop is scheduled October 10-14, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Northeast State at Gray campus, 120 Dillon Court, Gray. The course fee is $845. Registration deadline is September 26.

This course covers OSHA Standards, policies, and procedures in general industry. Topics include scope and application of the OSHA General Industry Standards, general industry principles and special emphasis on those areas in general industry which are most hazardous.

Upon course completion, students learn how to define general industry terms found in the OSHA General Industry Standards publication. Students learn to identify hazards which occur in general industry, locate and determine appropriate OSHA General Industry Standards, policies, and procedures. Students acquire the ability to describe the use of OSHA General Industry Standards and regulations to supplement an ongoing safety and health program.

The course comes highly recommended for environmental, safety and health managers and employees, plant and facility engineers. The course also provides a great learning source for maintenance staff, individuals new to the field, as well as experienced environmental safety and health managers looking to expand their knowledge.
