Today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce expressed gratitude to U.S. Representative Diana Harshbarger for her efforts in supporting American businesses through tax reforms. Rep. Harshbarger is working to prevent a significant automatic tax increase that may occur at the end of this year when many provisions of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act are set to expire.

“The U.S. Chamber of Commerce thanks Rep. Harshbarger for being a leader and fighting for small businesses,” stated Neil Bradley, Executive Vice President and Chief Policy Officer at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He highlighted that in Rep. Harshbarger’s district, approximately 39,530 small and pass-through businesses could benefit from an increase in their qualified business income deduction by about $41,197,200 if the One Big Beautiful Bill Act is passed.

Bradley added that this potential change would allow local businesses to pay less in federal taxes, providing them with more resources to reinvest in their workforce and grow their operations. The U.S. Chamber urges the House to quickly pass this legislation to offer permanent tax relief nationwide.
