Monday Night Assault Results in Charges Against Johnson City Man
Last night, around 11 p.m., deputies were called to a residence in the 300 block of Cave Hill Road in Blountville regarding a female that had been assaulted and also sustained a gunshot wound to the hand.
Upon arrival, deputies observed a female with injuries to her face, knees, arm, and elbow. The female also had a gunshot wound in the left hand. The victim advised that she was assaulted by Mitchell Runnings, age 40, of Johnson City, as she was attempting to leave the residence on Cave Hill Road. During the altercation, the victim sustained the gunshot wound to the hand.
Runnings was gone from the scene upon the arrival of responding deputies. Investigators responded and have obtained a warrant charging Mitchell Runnings with Aggravated Assault.
