The Northeast State Esports Bears are delivering a November to remember with big wins and great games this month.
The Bears’ Rocket League trio won a thrilling series 3-2 over Suffolk Community College (Selden, N.Y.) Monday night at Basler Library Arena. The Bears’ avenged a heartbreaking 3-2 series loss to the Sharks on Nov. 7. Last night’s battles saw the Bears win the deciding game 3-2 as Ethan Fink (Radio), Mason Ramsey (Tan_O_Cuna), and Hayley Fields (Snow_flakess) held off a furious Sharks rally in the final minute. The Rocket League Bears posted five wins against two losses on the season.
The Bears’ Super Smash Brothers Ultimate (SSBU) team continued smashing through the competition after Nov. 9 night matches against two community college adversaries from the state of Missouri.
Silas Shook (alias GamerTheC) won his match 3-0 over his opponent Z-fire from Missouri State University – West Plains (West Plains, Mo.). In the second SSBU match against State Fair Community College (Sedalia, Mo.), Kayden Haselton (alias Lunacy) swept his opponent SFCCEsport 3-0 in the best-of-five game series. GameTheC (6-0) and Lunacy (6-0) remain UNDEFEATED in SSBU play this season.
In other game results, the Bears’ Call of Duty: Vanguard fighters posted their first two series wins of the season on Nov. 7 and Nov. 14 due to forfeit by the scheduled teams. The CoD: Vanguard team played well against tough opponents all season.
The Valorant team improved their record to 4-1 on Nov. 10 against the Union College Owls (Union County, N.J.) The Bears’ Valorant squad of Alex Defreece (Shaggy); Bryson Raymond (RaiRaine); Gavin Callahan (Gavy); Will Francis (bullfrogging); and Fields (Snow_flakess) triumphed 2-0 in a best of three series. The Bears won the first game 13-6 and the second game 13-1 with impressive performances by all. Bears teammates Tan_O_Cuna and Radio added blast-by-blast live color commentary to the series.
The Overwatch 2 crew won their second game in a row on Nov. 11 besting Alexandria Technical and Community College (Alexandria, Minn.) by 3-0 in a best of five series matchup. The Overwatch 2 Bears team looked impressive raising their season record to two wins against three losses. The team of Benjamin Brooks (Fatal); Dylan Presnell (Arashi); Ashley Andrade (Scorpio) and Logan Dunn (TheApollo11) hit their groove this season with a second straight 3-0 shutout win over an opponent.
The League of Legends squad fell to Suffolk CC’s LofL team on Nov. 12. The series dropped the team’s record to 4-2 on the season. The Bears League of Legends team competing Saturday was Daniel Rameriz (Mira Mis Puntos); Tyler Winters (Yuki); Jay Bronson (JayTheFallenOne); Nathan Columbe (GhostDogHowl); and Jason Brown (MageGods).
