Northeast State Community College The Esports Bears fight on through first season

The Northeast State Bears esports teams continue to fight through tough contests against esports clubs from across North America

On October 14 our Bears took on St. Clair College (Windsor, Ontario, CA) Saints. In the best of 5 game Northeast State lost 3-0 in a trio of tough battles against the Saints.

Head Coach Chris Demas noted the first round was played with game type as Control and the map was LiJiang Tower. St. Clair took the game 3-1.  The Second round was played with game type as Push and the map was Colosso.   The Bears put up a great fight but lost a close game by 1-0.

The third round was game type Hybrid with the map selected as Kings Row. It was a close round of games but St. Clair won 3-2.

The season’s other matchups featured great battles for the Bears to hone their skills. Game dates and results thus far are listed below.

October 15: The Bears’ League of Legends won by forfeit when their opponents from Iowa Central Community College (Iowa City, Iowa) did not show up to compete.

October 17: The Bears’ Call of Duty: Vanguard team fell 3-0 in a best of five match series to Catawba Valley Community College (Hickory, N.C.)  On the same night, Northeast State Bears Rocket League squad suffered their first lost of season as the College of Eastern Idaho (Idaho Falls, Idaho) won three game to zero.

October 21:  The Northeast State Overwatch club battled Suffolk County Community College (Selden, N.Y.) before falling three games to one.

October 22: The Bears’ League of Legends squad lost a match two games to one against Western Technical College (LaCrosse, Wisc.).

October 24: The Call of Duty: Vanguard crew lost a tough match 3-0 against Tallahassee Community College (Tallahassee, Fla). The same night the Rocket League team bounced back to win 3-1 over their opponents from Northwest Community College (Powell, Wy.).

The E-Bears team engages spectators via Twitch or other platform to watch their games like traditional sports. Spectators get a first-person view of what the gamer sees in the field. Two huddle cams stream video of the players competing and the game screens.
