Veronica Roach of the King University women's soccer team has been chosen as the Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) women's soccer player of the week, it was announced Tuesday afternoon.
Roach, a junior from Pottstown, Pa. started both matches last week, playing the full 90 minutes. She scored a goal Wednesday to help King to a 2-2 draw with Southern Wesleyan before scoring the only King goal in a 1-0 victory over Francis Marion Saturday afternoon. Roach also had five shots on goal during the week.
This is the first time a Tornado has won a weekly award from the TSWA since March 16, 2021. The last time a King women's soccer player won the honor was Kara Garrett on November 1, 2016.
