Northeast State’s Workforce Solutions presents a 14-week Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) course beginning August 30.
The course meetings happen on-ground at the Regional Center for Health Professions on the Northeast State at Kingsport campus. The course requires a 40-hour clinical experience. The course registration deadline is August 30.
Class Dates: Tuesdays, August 30 – December 6
Course Hours: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Fee: $995 (includes the NHA Certification Exam)
Medical assistants complete administrative and clinical tasks in the offices of physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities. A CCMA’s duties vary with the location, specialty, and size of the practice. Course topics include patient care; communication; office administration; medical law and ethics; phlebotomy; and EKG monitoring.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says employment in this field is projected to grow more than 20 percent through 2028, much faster than the average for all occupations. Individuals interested in starting a career in the medical field or those looking to develop skills may benefit from this program. The program fee includes the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant exam.
