Warning, scammers are using the Hawkins County Sheriff's Office phone number (423-272-4848) pretending to be the Social Security Office.
Also, we've had citizens report that people have approached them offering services as a paving company to fix their driveway and ask for payment without doing the work.
Never give personal information or pay up front.
